News:

After years of service in Chicago, several of the ideas and concepts from xAN, Inc., WAMITS, Inc., Suite Technologies, Zero Mile Networks (0Mile Networks), and some of our concepts from other area companies will be managed by PlexAN in New York.

PlexAN is working with New York area companies to develop applications for the Department of Defense (advanced video and imaging), Homeland Security (disaster preparedness) and bridging the Digital Divide in rural communities (see, also, http://www.s3gonline.com/s3gc/ ).  S3G Corporation is involved in Interoperable Communications and combines the fiber optic and disaster experience of principals of PlexAN, with the cellular and wireless experience of S3 Group in Chicago.

Technology Management Assoc., Inc. remains at 221 North LaSalle Street  at the Chicago River.

History:

(Osaka in October 2002) Tarkus Murphy of the Chicagoland Electronic Commerce Initiative and Joanne Gucwa of Technology Management Associates, Inc. helped organize a 2002 mission to the Global Business Opportunity Convention (G-BOC) and Global Venture Forum (GVF). CECI's purpose is to promote international business understanding among midwest businesses and to help those businesses access technology partners worldwide.

Michael is preparing presentations about Advanced Networking Concepts and Disaster Preparedness for the meetings in Japan.  CECI and other organizations are sponsoring similar events in the United States leading up to this event, including Sungard and other companies.

xAN, Inc. at GBOC/GVF

xAN, Inc. participated with several other Chicago based companies at the 2001 Global Business Opportunity Conference in Osaka, Japan.

xAN: A third and fourth beginning

News Item:  xAN is based on a term coined in the 1990s by Michael Murphy, representing the concept of variable area networks (LANS, CANs, MANs, WANs, GANs, S/WANs and more). "Variable Area Networks," network security, disaster preparedness have returned as important topics.   xAN will not be limited to a particular type of system and xAN partners are ready to provide a broad range of services.

In 2003, principals of xAN left Chicago to New York.  Many of the companies in Chicago were merged into PlexAN, Inc.

xAN can be found at www.xan2.com.  Several services will be branded directly or co-branded with others.

xAN also works closely with Technology Management Assoc., Inc. at 221 North LaSalle Street in Chicago, Illinois.   (Pictured at right)

S3G Corporation is located at the Cornell Technology Farm at Cornell University’s New York State Agricultural Experiment Station in Geneva New York.
