Memorandum of Understanding (TBA)
The purpose of this web page is to keep project participants up to speed on developments in the filing of an application for NSF 08-542: Innovations in Engineering Education, Curriculum, and Infrastructure (IEECI). The application must be completed and filed by April 30, 2008.I would like to thank everyone for their support in helping the Wayne-Finger Lakes Board of Cooperative Educational Services (WFL BOCES) create the K-20+/Industry Coalition (KIC). Chances of obtaining a grant are not high, but we have pulled together a group that is concerned about the education and career developments of our students. It was nearly impossible to describe the full potential of each organizations or their contributions within the page limitations of the grant. The total letters of support were longer than the grant application. In addition to the letters that we received, several other parties have made commitments to support the formation and operation of KIC.
KIC will begin meeting in the Summer of 2008. I am happy to report that many of the participants intend to participate regardless of the grant outcome. Between the Summer of 2008 and January of 2009, KIC will organize and explore several areas of school to career issues. Besides, Mr. Joe Galante, we have selected a lead contact for KIC who will help facilitate and operate monthly meetings and other KIC activities. As the person only recently learned of their role, the name will be disclosed at a later date.
